No-nonsense businesswoman Millie McGonigle desperately wants to adopt her orphaned neighbor Tommy. When the question of a husband comes up, Millie invents a fiancé who is working in Alaska. Ralph Galloway, who runs the foundling home, gives her 60 days to present her fiancé for his adoption interview.
