We want to make sure that the SoftArchive community is a safe and trustworthy source of information for our community. These rules and guidelines are designed to help give a better understanding of what behaviour is expected and make your experience more enjoyable and safer. To help you gain the most from the SoftArchive Community, please familiarise yourself with these rules and guidelines before participating.
A clear understanding of the following is REQUIRED. Please read the requesting rules before you post a request. If you follow the rules it's much easier for the community to help you. And it's an easier life for the mods as we do this job in our spare time.
Post with respect toward others. This site is aimed at a general audience, please be considerate of this.
No religion or politics. This is not the place. These are not to be discussed on these Community ever – they start too many fights.
Report any posts you feel contradict our policies by using the "Flag" feature and the Community Team will handle them as needed.
Only one account per user is allowed.
Only users with the Trust Level 1 (General) or higher can create requests. (Multiple accounts are not allowed. If you make a second account after being suspended, you will be found out and the duplicate account(s) will be suspended forever.)
Before posting please use the main site search and then community search feature (top right of any page 'Search Forum') and if it's not available here at SA then feel free to post your request.
You may provide external links, only links related to your request, but the link may not be malicious! Links to Amazon, IMDB or similar are ok, but links to other websites similar to ours, Usenet, Torrent and P2P links are not allowed.
If it's a repost: you can PM the originial uploader and ask for a reupload/fix. If he doesn't respond within 2 days you can open a community request
Don't request for content that is not released yet.
Only 1 request per topic.
Asking well-known members of the community to help you through the PM (Messages) will lead to the suspension of your account for 2 days.
And thank the uploader who is providing your file!
Any post breaking the site rules or the category rules, will be reported and deleted.
For any request follow its appropriate Template exactly as it is ! Examples:
Ebook Software Course Music Movie TV
Please write your requests in plain english.
Don't use the "leet" notation only because you think it's cool. Example: "L/\n6 L3/\/" looks cool but you and we won't find anything on the internet that is written like that. We don't have the time to ask our neighbors 10 years old son only to translate this notation into plain text for us. And yes, even google is not able to find the related topics. Any of such requests will be deleted by us without further notice!
Be mindful of links you receive through Messages/PM if they're not from ranked/reputable members. When in doubt, ask someone to check them for you. Better safe than sorry. (If you are to receive links through pm)
And do say thank you.
We will block any user who thinks he has to bump a request from an other user for 48 hours without further warning. If the user does this again, he will be blocked for additional 96 hours without warning. A new violation will result in permanent suspension. Unfortunately we have to take such drastic measures, because good words and bits have not been successful in the last months. If we continue to allow entries to be bumped by anyone, we would lose them in the entry list.
Same for bumping your own request if you don't wait 24 hours between
In the past users started to ask for reuploads of courses in reduced size even the original uploads are younger than 30 days. Or they are requesting a reupload to a different filehoster usually mega or zippyshare. In both cases the original uploader will lose the additional filehoster's download rewards as the users download from other filehosters. We know that a huge download about 32 GB can be a pain in your a** and will take a while but we do not accept such requests anymore to protect our valued uploaders. Read here what @"[deleted]"#71 said about it.
The users have to help in any way that can lead to solve an other users request. In detail: they have to help 1 time for every 5 own requests. If a user requests more than 5 (in total) and does not help 1 time than all of his new requests will be closed. 10 requests mean 2 times help.15 requests mean 3 times help... and so on...
These limitations are only valid for the "Requests" section. If someone now thinks he can post his requests in the "Helpdesk" or "General" section than be warned: Your requests there will be closed a.s.a.p. and you risk a suspending for 4 days.
The above rules don't apply to user with status "superuser" as these guys have shown in the past that they know how this community works and we are proud to have them among us!
Trust levels are a way of…
Helping to combat spam effectively.Sandboxing new users in the community so that they cannot accidentally hurt themselves, or other users while they are learning what to do.Granting experienced users more rights over time, so that they can help everyone maintain and moderate our community they generously contribute so much of their time to.
The User Trust Levels we offer:
TL0 - New - are brand new to the community and have just created an accountTL1 - General are definitely not botsTL2 - Beginner are active readers and contributors to discussionsTL3 - Intermediate are regularly helpful members, contributing both requests and answersTL4 - Advanced are the backbone of our community, the most active readers and reliable contributors over a period of months, even years. These are the top contributors and greatest community membersTL5 - Superuser are almost moderatorsTrust Level 0
By default, all new users start out at trust level 0, meaning trust has yet to be earned. These are visitors who just created an account, and are still learning the community norms and the way our community works. New users’ abilities are restricted for safety – both theirs and ours.

This trust system leads to a stronger, more sustainable community by carefully empowering General, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and Super Users to curate and lead the community. The trust system will evolve over time as we gain more experience with more community users.
At this point we want to thank all users who have helped us to grow this community. Our team is proud to have you among us. Keep on going. THANK YOU!
