Now that all seven Eagles have landed in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, it is high time for CMH Records to reissue Pickin’ On The Eagles, one of the first in its hugely successful Pickin’ On series. This time the album holds more than 50 all-instrumental minutes of music and is finely feathered with three added bonus tracks and new package art.
Noted for power of flight and vision, the eagle is aptly emblematic of this West Coast group of country-rockers’ flight through the 70s to soaring status as one of the biggest-selling world class bands. The Eagles’ take-off from the Troubadour Club, their openings for the Rolling Stones, Yes, Aerosmith, and Elton John and their mighty back-up of Linda Ronstadt are rock history. Their break-ups and break-away hits, their gold records and Grammy Awards and their glide through the concert circuit to the light of hundreds of thousands of bics made them headliners and superstars.
